High Performance Green Building System™ (HPGBS)
An innovative building envelope (i.e. building shell), the High Performance Green Building System's wall and roof panels are comprised of a light-gauge steel skeleton and ultra-efficient expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation (Pictured Right). Manufactured exclusively by Green-Source Products, HPGBS is the second generation of early SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels) commonly referred to as SIPs 2.0. Unlike early SIPs, which consisted of EPS insulation sandwiched between sheets of plywood, HPGBS utilizes galvanized steel for structural support, eliminating previous problems with warped and twisted wood. EPS, which resists moisture penetration, has a high strength to weight ratio and doesn't support bacterial growth (i.e. mold) has been retained. Be it for curtain, demising or load-bearing walls, HPGBS panels are ideal for Ground-Up Construction and Building Addition applications for Commercial, Residential or Industrial structures. Our panels are fully engineered and pre-assembled (in sections up to 40 feet) with factory-cut and framed window & door openings and pre-routed horizontal & vertical electrical & plumbing chases for exceptionally fast and easy installation. Furthermore, they can be used with any type of interior or exterior finish. HPGBS' building envelope has shown to reduce space conditioning utility expenses by as much as 75%**. These dramatic cost savings are due largely its excellent R-Values, which typically range between R-23 and R-50 for panel thicknesses of 3.5" to 12" respectively. HPGBS panels can be customized to nearly any thickness or R-Value requested. Given this exceptional energy efficiency, HPGBS' can make significant contributions to your project’s LEED certification goals. It is a factor in 8 LEED subcategories with values up to 35 total points (Version 3: New Construction & Major Renovation).* HPGBS vs. Traditional ConstructionIncrease your return on investment without compromising design. HPGBS outperforms traditional construction methods. See how! |
